Ugh.

Pretty much an eating disorder speaking there. We can tell the difference between that and the thoughts of a rational, healthy person, but unfortunately much of the population can't.

I knew this was going to make me rage but I clicked anyway.

We eat well, we exercise — please, do the same and you will look like this.

Ummmm, no. It doesn't work like that. I will never, ever, EVER look like a supermodel because I don't have that kind of build. Most people don't, and the majority of people who exercise and eat well won't end up looking like a supermodel. This kind of thinking breeds eating disorders. I don't blame the media per se for eating disorders, but obviously there is an undeniable connection between the two.

I read in a book somewhere that some people are apples, some people are bananas and some people are pears.
we can diet, exercise and try to re-shape our bodies as much as we can
but we will always be apples, bananas, or pears.

This.
Plus, ever wonder if a supermodel who exercised and ate well would actually still look like a supermodel.
Seriously, I don't think that the lifestyle and nutritions endorsed in the industry is good and healthy for the people working in it.

For me, the constant bombardment with these beauty norms used to be a real torment. I'm not blaming the media either, though, given that most of my peers without and ED were exposed to the same crap. But the media are certainly perpetuating some sick and stupid ideas.

It baffles me that someone can go through life with such a poor grasp on reality. I don't know if this lady is healthy or how she eats, but even if she is the picture of balanced nutrition and wellness, she's absolutely wrong to think she looks like a model because of it. And surely she should know that. It's bizarre how black-and-white her perspective is. Eat like me, be a supermodel. Eat "like a pig," be fat and wrong. And, apparently, if you're skinny you're far better off than anyone who isn't. HA.

That's rich. I know a lot of people who exercise and eat well. Strangely enough, I don't know a single supermodel. How could that be?

I actually feel so grateful that I have the wisdom to know better. I can't imagine ever being happy if I were so closed-minded. But hey, if she's happy living in her "I'm better than everyone because of my abnormal body fat percentage" world, good for her. Too bad she has the nerve to spread that bullshit in the media.
