Personally, I try to distinguish between "blame" and "responsibility".

I don't blame myself for being ill, I damn well blame the sickness for how it makes me feel, but what I do is my responsibility and I'm the one who has to take action. So, when it comes to the question of what to do it's probably leading to the same conclusions.
But acknowledging how fucked and mean that ED voice in the back of my head is...this seems important to me.
