You Get What You Give

I've been thinking a lot lately about the phrase "You get what you give." It woke me up in the middle of the night last night.
On a small scale, even with this site, you get out of it what you put in. Sometimes, I get caught up in wondering whether anyone's reading what I'm posting, or why something didn't get a lot of responses. You know, writing and writing and wondering if anyone's reading. When I'm doing that I'm putting doubt and negative energy into the atmosphere of the place; and that's what I'll get out. But, when I'm focused on being a part of the Orange in the most honest and genuine way that I can be, responding to the posts and touch me or that I can add to, but not being obsessive and leaving superficial replies on all of them, I help the Orange be an honest and genuine place. Then I take good things from here.
On a larger scale, what I'm getting in life is directly related to what I'm putting into it. If I'm being open and having real conversations and living genuinely, I will have genuine people in my life. If I'm too busy worrying about the way other people perceive me or worrying about the quantity of people in my life, my experience will reflect that.
You get what you give.
